What is Semi-Permanent Make-up?

It is micropigmentation which uses a revolutionary method of inserting small amounts of pigment in to the skin in order to enhance features.
Hypoallergenic pigments are implanted in between the epidermis and dermal layer. This results in a more natural appearance than a ‘permanent’ tattoo.

Benefits

How many of us dread applying make-up daily? Semi-permanent make-up really does have many endless benefits.

This procedure is perfect for anyone:

  • Who hates applying their make-up daily
  • Has time for precision when apply make-up
  • Waterproof great for Swimming and the gym
  • Filling in those over plucked brows
  • Creating shape to eye brows for Cancer survivors
  • Allergies/Sensitivity to make-up

Will it be too dark?
The first initial colour will fade about 30%-40% after a week on average, which is normal. This is the reason we purposely do them slightly darker, so that when the area is healed, the colour is the result we want. Otherwise it would be non-existent once healed!

How long does it last?
The results can last up to 4-5 years but may vary depending on: lifestyle, colour chosen, sun exposure, age and semi-permanent style i.e. hair stroke, powder etc.
(All of these can be discussed at your free consultation)

Consultation
Your practitioner will discuss in detail the procedure, price and any concerns or questions you may have. The therapist will then advise the most appropriate colour and shape for each individual upon consultation. But you will have total control. No procedure is started until you are 100% happy!

A pencilled stencil can be used in the consultation as a guide to show you the shape.

Is this for you?
Make-up is an important part of daily lives, but a very time consuming part to say the least.

On average, we spend 722 days of our lives just applying make-up. Semi-Permanent Make-Up and Microblading as a long-term investment, saving you time, money and hassle.

What happens during the procedure?
A topical anaesthetic is applied to the area, to reduce any discomfort. While the anaesthetic is taking effect, you can discuss with your practitioner what you are looking to achieve, if you haven’t already done this at your consultation.

We then proceed to work together to create the best suited shape for you with a pencil, this process takes the longest but is crucial to the results of the treatment. Once the initial shape is decided, that will be the practitioners guide to start off your semi – permanent journey!

Your practitioner will then use the pencilled stencil as a guide, and ‘tattoo’ over the area. Once the procedure is finished, the area will appear temporarily darker and you will be handed aftercare advice for your treatment.

Is it painful?
The sensation is described as a slight scratch, but if you feel discomfort more anaesthetic cream can be applied if necessary.

Aftercare
The surrounding area may be slightly red initially, this usually subsides after a few hours. Scabbing/flaking of the area is quite normal, but hardly visible.

• We recommend a minimum of 2 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.
• The second treatment implants more pigment into the skin, deepening and finishing off the shape if necessary.
• Use Vaseline to stop the area from cracking.
• Do not put water on the area for 24hours
• No touching the area to avoid infection
