Vein issues can be both a cosmetic concern and a medical problem. While varicose veins often require medical intervention, there are milder vein conditions that can be treated non-invasively, such as with laser treatment.
What is Laser Vein Treatment?
Laser vein treatment (link), also known as endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) or simply laser therapy, is a non-invasive medical procedure used to address various vein-related issues. It involves the use of laser energy to target and treat problematic veins, such as spider veins and smaller thread veins, blood spots and leg veins.
How Does It Work?
It is based on the principle which means using laser energy to target specific tissues without affecting the surrounding areas. For superficial; red veins we use an IPL and for deeper vessels that tend to be in the legs we use an Nd: YAG laser.
Light energy is applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed by blood vessels and provides heat to them until they are removed. To administer the treatment, we position the light applicator onto the skin and activate a brief burst of light or laser energy. Afterwards, we shift the applicator to the adjacent area and repeat the procedure until the entire targeted area has been treated. As a safety precaution during the treatment, protective eyewear will be supplied. To enhance comfort during the treatment, a cooling device can be employed, or if necessary, numbing cream may also be applied.
Benefits of Laser Vein Treatment
- Non-Invasive: One of the primary advantages of it is that it is a minimally invasive procedure. There are no surgical incisions involved, which means less scarring, less pain, and a shorter recovery time compared to traditional vein surgery.
- Precision: Laser therapy targets specific veins, leaving surrounding tissues unharmed. This precision reduces the risk of complications and promotes faster healing.
- Quick Recovery: Most patients can return to their normal activities shortly after the treatment, with little to no downtime required.
- Improved Appearance: This treatment can significantly improve the appearance of spider veins, enhancing a patient’s self-confidence.
It’s important to note that it is not suitable for larger varicose veins. These typically require more extensive medical procedures. Our laser experts will consult with you before any vein treatment goes ahead to make sure the correct steps are taken to get the desired results.
This treatment is a non-invasive and effective solution for addressing various vein conditions, including smaller thread veins, blood spots and leg veins. This procedure offers several benefits, such as minimal discomfort, quick recovery, and improved appearance. However, it is essential to consult with a medical professional for a proper evaluation, especially if you suspect you have varicose veins or underlying venous insufficiency. With the guidance of Laserwise, you can choose the most suitable treatment option.
